This is information about the keynote address taht wwas given at the Fall Leadership Summit 2008

“Mathematics Leadership: In and Out of the Classroom”

Our keynote speaker was: Dr Brenda Myers

Superintendent of Schools, Groton CSD 

“Mathematics and Leadership: Moving the default to YES”

The purpose of this presentation was to address the challenges faced in creating a vision where all children master high levels of mathematical competency, a requirement for 21^st century success and to review the role of leadership and learning in changing expectations and results.

Participants left teh summit with strategies and answers to some or all of the following questions: 

• How do you support mathematics instruction in your classrooms? 
• How do you invite leadership from other members of the school community?
• How do you design professional learning communities in your school?
• How do you model leadership practices and skills?
